For those of you interested St Helena's newspapers are also available online as many "Saints" live abroad and cannot buy them there (Back copies are also on the site). This means that people all over the world who are interested can read what is happening here, without having to print. The site for the Independent newspaper is www.saint.fm . You can also listen to the local radio live via this site. I shall have to be saying good bye to you all for a while soon as I will be going on a 6 month maternity leave. As most of you know I dont have the interenet at home so I will not be able to access correspondence there! I have only 4 weeks left before i go so anything urgent you wish to speak to me about do so soon!
Thanks Janine |

I've just got back to looking at the discussion forum. Thanks Janine for the link to St Helena radio and newspaper online. This is a really good way of sharing information and I found it very interesting. I hope other people take the time to check it out. Elizabeth.

All the oceans of the world are reportedly full of junk, floating, and partly submerged, let alone what we don't see below the surface.
Round-the-world cpmpetition sailors report that no part of the ocean is free of floating waste, not even the most remote regions. The best idea is to reduce our waste production as well as to re-use items and recycle. REDUCE, REUCE, REDUCE - the recession may help this, as we may buy fewer goods with less packaging to throw away! What do you think?
